Josse Ford Original Paintings

Owning an original pastel painting by Josse Ford will literally bring the energy and beauty of the wilds of nature into your home. Whether it is a beautiful Hawaiian ocean or beach painting, a raw study of the mesas of New Mexico, or a dance of trees in the California wine country, your painting will be an endless inspiration of nature’s beauty and power.

All paintings are framed under glass to provide protection for the pastels. We use archival materials and techniques, and do not apply fixatives to the paintings as we have found that this results in a slight discoloration of the pastel and a loss of energy in the work.

We normally frame originals without mats in gold plein-aire frames. This approach to framing provides a simplicity and beauty that really compliments the paintings. We can however reframe any original painting in any way you would like. Contact us for more information on alternate framing options and costs.

One highly recommended option with original pastel paintings is the use of Tru Vue Museum Glass® instead of regular framers glass. Museum Glass® provides excellent anti-reflective properties far superior to traditional non-glare glass (which will impair the focus of the painting). More importantly, it adds almost complete protection from harmful UV rays which can cause discoloration of your painting over time. You can read more about Tru Vue glass at:
